Friendly and Inspiring cake classes for everyone
The Cake College
The Cake College

Their tutors are not only highly experienced professional bakers, pastry chefs and cake decorators, but passionate teachers too, with years of industry knowledge, creativity and expertise to share.

Just as importantly, they’re warm, friendly people who love helping students grow in confidence.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have experience, they’ll make sure you feel relaxed, supported and completely at ease from the moment you walk through the door.

At The Cake College, they believe learning should be fun, inspiring and never intimidating.

Theirr aim is always to teach new skills in a welcoming and relaxed environment, where creativity can flourish and everyone feels encouraged to have a go.

Every member of their team plays a part in creating the friendly atmosphere that makes The Cake College so special.

They have a ramp for those in wheelchairs to access the building, and an accessible toilet.

They can also arrange for parking immediately at the entrance door.

However do  contact them ahead of your class if you require this so they can reserve you the space.

Please be aware that their worktops unfortunately cannot be lowered.

They’d recommend a minimum age of 10 for their adult classes.

It’s really up to parents to decide if their child would be happy decorating cakes for a whole day – after all, you know them best!

They also run seasonal family baking days in the school holidays.

If you have another class in mind for your child/teen, please contact them before booking to check it will be suitable.

Their classes are currently held in Arborfield, close to Wokingham and Reading in Berkshire.

From September 2026, they’ll be moving to their lovely new home:

The Flour Barn

Frilsham Home Farm

Yattendon

RG18 0XT.

Their classes are small, so that you can have your own work space and they can give you our undivided attention! Classes are 6-8 people, depending on the class

For any class where they provide the cakes ready to decorate, they can accommodate most dietary requirements with a little bit of notice, including gluten free/vegan.

For any class where students bake the cake(s), they can provide gluten free or dairy free ingredients, but are unfortunately unable to accommodate vegan/egg free baking.

Please note that the classroom isn’t gluten or dairy free, there will be cross contamination as they use regular flour and dairy products for the majority of students.

The only thing you need to  take is your lunch if you are coming for a full day’s class.

Everything else is provided for you, including all drinks, equipment, ingredients, boxes to take your cakes/bakes home in, and an apron.
