Sourdough Masterclass
They’re excited to introduce their very first Sourdough Bread Masterclass at The Cake College – something our community has been asking for years.
Led by award-winning baker Your Davey Bread, this immersive one-day class will give you the confidence, knowledge, and hands-on experience to bake beautiful sourdough at home.
Whether you’re completely new to sourdough or looking to improve your skills, this course will guide you through the full process, from understanding and caring for your starter, to shaping, baking, and troubleshooting your own artisan loaves.
During the day, you’ll learn how to create three signature bakes:
Country Bumpkin sourdough loaf, blending white and wholemeal flour for flavour and structure
Light, airy sourdough focaccia, finished with olive oil and herbs
A comforting sourdough bread pudding, perfect for using leftover bread
You’ll work hands-on throughout the class, learning how to mix, ferment, shape, prove, and bake your dough under expert guidance, using premium ingredients.
To help you continue your sourdough journey, every student will take home:
Their own active sourdough starter, ready to bake with
A full set of detailed printed class notes to support you at home
Two professional banneton proving baskets to use at home
THREE loaves, a foccacia and bread pudding!
You’ll leave fully equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to carry on baking independently.
This is an in-depth, small-group class designed for home bakers who want to master one of the most rewarding skills in artisan baking.
