Since 1957, the League of Friends has raised funds for the Reading Hospitals. These days it is just the Royal Berkshire Hospital that remains, and its League of Friends has a clear aim and that is to improve the care and comfort of patients, visitors and staff, above and beyond what is funded and provided by the NHS. Martin Butler has been the development Manager since 2008 and he joins us today to talk about the history of the charity, what they do and with stories of the people who have supported the charity through the years.
