Mr Neil Orpen is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Independent Hospital in Berkshire and he specialises in spinal surgery, with an interest in advanced techniques specifically aimed at minimising unnecessary trauma, which maybe caused by the surgery itself. Neil has been involved in the development GPS surgery, (Sat Nav Surgery) training junior and other consultants spinal surgeons, improving options open to the patient and development of advanced spinal surgery techniques. Whilst at the Ridgeway Hospital, near Swindon, the hospital was the finalist for the Innovation of Care category.
