Winding Woods Vineyard

The adventure began in 2012.

One summer’s evening they were on the front lawn sipping sun downers and gazing out at their sheep as they contentedly nibbled grass in one of their paddocks when Robert made the famous throwaway remark: instead of grazing these sheep perhaps it would be more rewarding to plant a vineyard.

They evicted the sheep with due notice and planted vines.

Roll on 12 years and they have released five vintages of Winding Wood sparkling wine to date.

Their second release — the 2016 classic cuvée — won a clutch of medals including a gold from WineGB — the wine equivalent of a Bafta!

And their 2018 wines harvested five medals in 2022: one gold and 4 four silvers.

Not bad for a couple of oldies.
