Wild Sprouts: Woodland play sessions
Wild Sprouts
Wild Sprouts

Leanne’s a Nature-Based Practitioner who runs Wild Sprouts at Penwood during Term-Time.

Join them for fun, forest school inspired sessions perfect for homeschooled and SEN children of primary age!

They also offer outreach sessions for primary schools!

Parking: They kindly ask you to park at the Heathlands Road car park (it’s public!)

From the parking area, follow the path out to the road, turn left, and stroll down the hill until you see their lovely meeting point on the right side!

Please arrive on time, and they’ll be there to greet you all at 10:00 to kick off your adventure.

If you happen to be running late, don’t stress—just head down as soon as you can.

Top tips:

• Give yourself a little extra time to walk from the car park to their spot.

• Keep the kids close while walking to the meeting point.

• Parking is free, but please remember that this car park is surrounded by homes, so let’s park considerately to ensure everyone has space and to respect our neighbours!

They can’t wait to see you all enjoying the great outdoors with them!

Term-time Thursdays
Little Sprouts – fun woodland play for children under 5. 10-11:30.

Saplings – delightful primary aged SEN/Home-ed sessions. 1-2:30.

Join them every 3rd Saturday for Wildlings—wonderful woodland play for early years and primary-aged kids.

Special May Half-Term Woodland Sessions for Reception Start Dates.

This May half-term, they’re excited to offer unique woodland sessions specifically for kids starting reception in September; each session will be dedicated to one local primary school!

These fun sessions will allow your little ones to:

• Connect and play with others starting school at the same place

• Explore and have fun in a peaceful woodland environment

• Build confidence before their big school adventure in September

• Enjoy outdoor, child-led play with some informal group games

Each session features:

• Held at the beautiful Wild Sprouts woodland site

• Dedicated to one school at a time (no mixing of schools)

• Parents and children joining in together

• 2 hours of adventure and play

• Relaxed, nature-based, and play-led fun!

Participating schools include:

• John Rankin Infants

• Falkland Primary School

• Highwood Copse

• St Thomas Infant School, Woolton Hill

• Burghclere Primary School

They have limited access to their woodland site, so they’ve chosen these schools that are closest for these sessions.

They can’t include all the nearby schools at this time, and they truly apologise for that.

Best wishes to all the new starters as they embark on this exciting school journey in September!

Please keep in mind they need at least 6 participants per session for it to take off.

If you’re interested, please  visit their website  and let them know your child’s school (from the list above), so they can get a sense of numbers.

If there’s enough interest, they will share booking links soon.

This is the fun side of forest school—it’s a little messy, it doesn’t always stick to a plan, and it embraces change and spontaneity.

And that’s where the magic truly happens!
