The Turners Arms
The Turners Arms is situated along West End Road, on the outskirts of the English country village of Mortimer in Berkshire, between Reading & Basingstoke.
The Turners Arms was originally three cottages, one of which was a Wood Turner’s, hence the origin of the pub’s name.
They have a large car park, wheelchair access, a real fire for the winter months and cooler evenings, plus a good-sized garden for the warmer days where children are welcome.
They believe that their restaurant serves some of the finest food in the area (please see their menus) with a good range of English & Thai cuisine and the Chef’s “Specials of the Day” to tempt you.
If you’re in a hurry or fancy a takeaway, why not try their comprehensive choice of delicious, freshly-made, authentic Thai food – see the Takeaway Menu on their website for details.
Their real ales are brewed by Brakspear and include Bitter, Oxford Gold and Hobgoblin.
They also serve Fosters, Staropramen and Kronenbourg 1664 lagers on tap, Strongbow Cider and Draft Guinness, as well as an excellent selection of wines and a wide range of soft drinks.
The Turners Arms large public bar is the meeting place for many local clubs and societies, such as the Mortimer Scouts, Mortimer West End Cricket Club, and a number of other committees.
The restaurant can be reserved for lunch or evening functions given sufficient notice in advance.
