The Eyston Arms sits in the middle of the oldest part of the historic village of East Hendred, Oxfordshire, at the foot of the Ridgeway. Daisy Barton, the Dailey’s business Partner has long been the face of the Eyston Arms and her vivacious personality drives the success of the pub. In recent years it has received several awards and accolades and the partners pride themselves on the number of clients and friends who eat regularly at the Pub.Customers are greeted with a huge log fire, a rustic Cotswold flagstone floor, a series of cartoons of regular customers, simple polished tables and comfortable leather upholstered chairs.
Wherever possible they source and use local ingredients with all dishes being prepared on a daily basis. Their steaks are always aged and our vegetables often come from their own vegetable plots.
Sea Food obviously comes from slightly further away but their close contacts at Brixham allows them to source and provide fish that was often only caught the previous evening and delivered straight to them from their own suppliers.
One of the dubious honours of regularly eating and drinking in the Eyston Arms, is that you might end up on the wall…. Hanging by a stout nail!
Surrounding the bar area you will see a wonderful selection of caricatures from customers old and new drawn by talented local artists. Sadly some of them are no longer of this world but are remembered as some of the many who have helped create the unique atmosphere of the Eyston Arms.
In addition to the caricatures in the bar area you will also see on the walls a selection of photographic works from the photographer Charlie Dailey. These photos are shown in the gallery at the bottom of this page.
All of these works are for sale, to view more of her work or for more information and prices please visit her website at www.charliedailey.com.
