The Crown and Garter is a 17th century coaching inn, situated in Inkpen, near Hungerford, in the heart of the North Wessex Downs.
Having stood its ground since 1640, it is an integral part of Inkpen and the other surrounding villages.
Although they refurbished their bar and restaurant in 2014, the Crown and Garter hasn’t lost it’s old pub charm!
It is the perfect stop for dog walkers - for which they provide dog bowls, cyclists who make use of the bike rack, or just those seeking an idyllic setting in which to enjoy a drink, a meal or both.
With a menu dictated by the seasons, the food served at the Crown and Garter is always expertly crafted by Chefs using seasonal and local produce.
A regularly changing menu means that no two visits will ever be the same, but high quality and delicious food can always be counted on along with a wide selection of drinks from local distilleries and breweries.
If you’re looking for a relaxing rural escape, they’re just the place for you!
Book into one of their 10 beautifully designed bedrooms, each with their own unique style and personality, but with comfort always being a priority.
Whether you choose to explore the serene countryside or visit local attractions like the Combe Gibbet, they guarantee that you will leave feeling well looked after and refreshed!
They have a cosy coffee shop that is located just behind their pub, which has a beautiful courtyard and serves freshly baked goods from Wednesday - Sunday.
All of their food is baked fresh by humans in their bakery unit, (located on Turnpike Road, Newbury), and is delivered every morning to their cafés.
They use absolutely no additives, preservatives or chemicals in their food and source ingredients that are local and seasonal, wherever possible.
They are a food business who care about their food, where it comes from, how it is made and who makes it.
Coffee shop opening hours: Monday - Sunday | 8.30am-4.00pm
