Sir John Madejski

Sir John Robert Madejski, OBE, DL (born Robert John Hurst; 28 April 1941) is an English businessman, with commercial interests spanning property, broadcast media, hotels, restaurants, publishing and football.

Sir John Madejski OBE, DL made his mark in business as founder of Thames Valley Trader which would grow to become the multinational brand known as Auto Trader.

He has also funded The John Madejski Academy in Reading, an inner-city academy, which he says is the best that he has ever done.

Currently he is involved Clearview Intelligence who presented their innovative solar powered road stud earlier this month, the SolarLite 2.

This device is designed to reduce road accidents that occur in the night, offering 10 times greater visibility than traditional ‘cat’s eyes’ for improved hazard warning and road guidance.
