Run:

The run is an off road route and the ground is uneven and muddy in places so please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

There are a couple of spots where the ground is very uneven and they haven’t been able to do anything about it due to the wet weather, so they’d recommend walking those spots.

Marshals will warn you in these areas.

You won’t be getting any personal bests on this fun run unfortunately, but you should still have great fun running through their beautiful countryside and Christmas tree fields.

Health and safety info:

Elf and Safety – as it is Christmas, they felt they could put a pun in but this does not mean that they do not take your health and safety seriously!

As much as this is a fun run, please make sure you do not take part unless you have read these health and safety guidelines carefully.

You will not be able to take part if you have failed to read these and confirm to them that you have done so.
1. Please do not touch or climb on any machinery you see in the yard or on the course, none of it is working but please do not be tempted!
2. It’s a fun run so please do not go for your Personal Best!

Please focus on the unique festive experience that this
should be which is running through their beautiful countryside and Christmas tree fields raising money for charity.

3. There are lots of obstacles compared to a run on a well trodden path, its all off road so please keep your eyes
open for natures obstacles!

4. The ground is uneven and very muddy and will be icy (if its cold) in places – please walk the sections were you
feel unsteady on your feet.

There will be puddles – as much as it is fun to jump in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig does, please do not as you won’t be able to see the bottom and the bottom maybe uneven ground.

5. There are a couple of spots where the ground is very uneven, so they’d recommend walking those spots rather than trying to sprint and skid over them.

6. Listen to their lovely Marshals to avoid getting lost, they will all know the course and have maps.

You will see lots
of arrow signs around the course, keep your eyes peeled to avoid going the wrong way or doing more miles than you need to!

7. If you are wearing headphones, please have the volume at a level so you can hear the Marshals and others
around you.

8. Marshals will warn you of the particularly uneven areas as you make your way round the course but please do
use your eyes – if you go into this knowing the ground is uneven and slippery, you will be prepared.

They don’t
want you to ruin your Christmas with twisted ankles!

9. If you do hurt yourselves, please get someone to let the nearest marshal know who will get a first aider to you, they do have first aiders on site.

If you see a runner in trouble please stop and help them and ask another runner
to inform a marshal ASAP so they can radio in help.

Don’t step over them!!

10. Part of the route is shared with public footpaths which are shared with members of the public so please be
respectful.

11. Childs Court Farm, take care when running through the commercial buildings as you run through this area for any vehicle movements, the marshals will highlight this to you.

12. They hate to say this but not everyone is honest so please do not leave valuables around

13. If you feel unwell at any point on the run, stop and get another run to get to the nearest Marshall to summon for help.

Lastly, please have fun and enjoy but take care over the slippery and uneven ground.
