BOWLS – KEEPING YOU HEALTHY
It has been medically proven that Bowls improves your general health and helps to strengthen the immune system.
Playing a game of bowls gives your muscles and joints good exercise because you are not giving your cardiovascular system a workout.
During an average game, you will:*Bend more than 40 times
*Walk about 1260 metres
*Swing your arm more than 40 times to deliver a bowl weighing more than 3 lbs.
This gives your muscles and joints good exercise as well as exercising your mind as you try to outwit your opponent!
WHY THEY WENT SOLAR
Operating a premier indoor bowling facility all year round requires an immense amount of power.
They have upgraded to solar power with battery storage to give the club continued financial independence by protecting they premises from unpredictable grid energy costs.
This project was made possible entirely through their own club funds.
Instead of leaving their hard-earned reserves sitting in a low-interest bank account, the Directors voted to invest directly into their premises and by funding this internally, they have taken full control of their energy future.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OUR MEMBERS
A GREEN LEGACY – drastically reduces our carbon footprint, making us a leading eco-friendly sports venue in our local community
FINANCIAL PROTECTION – cuts our daily running costs and shields the club’s bank balance from rising commercial energy prices
BETTER FACILITIES – money saved on electricity bills will be reinvested directly back into premises upgrades and interior maintenance.
