As the custodians of Newbury’s history, they safeguard its stories, and memories, ensuring they endure for generations to come.
Through lectures they uncover the hidden treasures of our district and keep their members informed about the latest discoveries, and learn about the past.
They are dedicated to educating the next generation, nurturing their curiosity, and inspiring them to become stewards of Newbury’s heritage.

The founding members included the Reverend J Randall as chairman, Dr. Silas Palmer as Honorary Secretary, and Mr. C Slocock from Newbury Bank, who took care of the treasury.
Nowadays  the NDFC is thriving with around 60 members and they’re always on the lookout for new friends to join- check out their website for more info.
NDFC hosts interesting talks throughout the year, so there’s plenty to look forward to.
