On this weeks show Paul chats to Meryl Praill MBE about Newbury Soup Kitchen and much more.

Newbury Soup Kitchen set up by Meryl in January 2017.

Meryl identified a gap in local food provision for people experiencing homeless and vulnerably housed.

She also discovered their no services were available on Thursdays or Saturdays So Meryl gathered the resources needed and opened their doors to meet that need.

At the time, Meryl had no formal experience in mental health, addiction, or homelessness only compassion, kindness, and a determination to help.

Since then, Newbury Soup Kitchen has grown into a trusted place of safety and support for many, and has been a life-changing journey for her personally.

The Soup Kitchen freshly cooked, nutritious three-course meals every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday evening for the homeless, vulnerably housed, across Newbury and West Berks.
