Paul Presents Being The Bishop Of Reading With Mary Gregory.
Paul chats about the journey from being  the Governor at Wakefield and Moorland prisons to becoming the new Bishop of Reading.
 
The Bishop of Reading is the Rt Revd Mary Gregory.
 
Mary was consecrated Bishop of Reading in February 2025.

 

The Diocese of Oxford covers the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire – around 2,200 square miles. 

 
Before becoming ordained, she worked in the prison service, including as a governor at Wakefield and Moorland prisons.
 
Mary was ordained in 2005, and served her curacies and early incumbencies in the Dioceses of Sheffield and Leicester
 
She studied theology at Cranmer Hall, Durham.
 
Most recently, Mary was Canon for the Arts and Reconciliation at Coventry Cathedral, which has a global reputation for its work on reconciliation.
