Pastry for Beginners
Hosted by Sarah Leary
Home cooks often feel intimidated by the thought of making pastry from scratch, which can be viewed as too tricky and technical.
Indeed there is even a word for this, “mageirocophobia” (the fear of cooking/baking).
However, like all things, it’s easy when you know how.
In this hands – on class their chef will guide you through a selection of pastries and preparations, demonstrating just how easy it can be to make your own delicious pastry in a matter of minutes.
As always the class will be peppered full of hints and tips to help you on your way.
You will learn:
- Rich shortcrust pastry (ricotta, spinach and dill tart)
- Soured cream pastry (lemony chicken pie)
- Suet pastry (tartiflette mini pies)
- Sweet shortcrust pastry (custard tart)
For lunch you will enjoy fruits of your labour, accompanied by a delicious glass of wine.
