New Table Lamp Woodturning Course
New Table Lamp Woodturning Course

One of the things they are most looking forward to about their new Table Lamp Woodturning Course is seeing just how different everyone’s finished lamps will be.

Rather than giving you a template to copy, they’ll start the two days by looking at what makes a good lamp design.

They’ll consider proportion, balance and shape, then get out the paper and pencils and develop your own ideas before heading to the lathe.

They’ll turn your lamp from 2 pieces of locally sourced hardwood, using faceplate and spindle turning techniques to gradually bring your design to life.

There’s also a rather satisfying new skill to master: long-hole boring

They’ll drill accurately through the length of your timber to create the route for the electrical cable.

They’ll then sand and finish the wood and assemble your lamp with its bayonet holder, cable, switch and plug.

So you’ll go home with something genuinely useful and completely individual – a wooden table lamp designed and made by you.

Choose from five two-day course dates: 8–9 October 2026
