Welcome to Midgham!
A charming little village nestled in the beautiful West Berkshire countryside, home to about 350people in the lovely Thames Valley of Southern England.
This quaint village is spread across several lovely spots around the Church of St. Matthew’s, the Village Green, New Road Hill, and the A4 Bath Road.
As a cosy, scattered village, it gracefully extends North from the picturesque Kennet & Avon Canal, right through the scenic old water meadows and into rolling farmland and woods.
If you wander away from the Bath Road, you’ll discover delightful leafy lanes, parkland, some charming old-world cottages, a delightful village green, and a stunning Victorian church perched on a hill, offering lovely views over much of the Kennet Valley.
This friendly village and civil parish are located on the slopes and floodplains on the north side of the meandering River Kennet.
You’ll find it’s only 6 miles east of Newbury and 2 miles east of Thatcham, with the northern part of the parish just 4.5 miles south of the M4 motorway.
Take a quick three-minute stroll, and you’ll reach the nearby village of Woolhampton, where you can enjoy a variety of shops, cozy pubs, and inviting restaurants.
A pleasant seven-minute walk will lead you to a mainline station that takes you to London Paddington, along with the fantastic Rowbarge pub & restaurant.
Plus, Midgham is surrounded by miles of beautiful countryside and peaceful canal side walks, and it sits in a perfect spot roughly halfway between Reading and Newbury – with junction 12 of the M4 just a 10-minute drive away!
