A 12th century family house and farming estate, Mapledurham is tucked beside the River Thames away from the distraction of the town and city.

The estate is a haven of tradition, coupled with sustainable commerce to maintain its viability and ensure its longevity.

They have a diverse range of operations on the estate and these include a dairy farm, a hydro electric Archimedes screw turbine, traditional watermill, an arable farm, numerous commercial and residential lettings, moorings, a biomass heating system and a country events park to name but a few!

They offer pre-booked tours of the house, featuring many historical paintings and hidden priest holes.

The grounds boast two beautiful magnolia trees, reputed to be the oldest pair in England.

The tour also includes the watermill, which is featured in the film “The Eagle Has Landed” and appears on the cover of Black Sabbath’s debut album
