Leckhampstead

 Nestled just to the north of Newbury in West Berkshire, this charming little village is only a few miles from the M4 and A34, surrounded by the stunning North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You’ll love exploring Leckhampstead Thicket, where you’ll find delightful thatched cottages, as well as the lovely Hill Green.

Don’t miss St James Church—this gorgeous Victorian gem, designed by S.S. Teulon, is made from beautiful brick and flint.

The local folklore is quite intriguing too!

There’s a road and boundary stone in Leckhampstead, known as the Hangman’s Stone, linked to a tale about a man who tried to steal a sheep by carrying it around his neck.

Unfortunately, it didn’t end well for him when he stopped to rest!.

Leckhampstead is perfectly situated to take advantage of the fantastic road networks, with the A34 just 5 miles away and M4, Junction 13 only 6 miles, linking you to the broader motorway network. Plus, there are great rail connections! You can catch a train from Newbury or Didcot Parkway to London Paddington in about 40 or 38 minutes, respectively.

When it comes to education, you’re in luck! There are several well-regarded schools nearby, including Cheam, Horris Hill, Cothill, Elstree, Radley College, Marlborough College, Bradfield College, and Downe House, to name just a few.

Communication is a breeze, with Junction 13 of the M4 making it easy to head to London, Heathrow Airport, or explore the beautiful west country.
