Layers of Poppies

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with experience

You will create your own poppy-themed picture using a variety of fibre materials.

Your finished piece will be approximately 20 × 20 cm and mounted ready to frame.

This could be a poppy field landscape or a close-up floral design.

You will be introduced to the tools and materials and shown how to use them safely and effectively.

You will be guided through the process of creating your artwork, from finding inspiration and selecting colours and fibres to building your picture using a range of techniques.

Your tutor will be on hand at every stage to demonstrate and offer advice as you work.

There will be the opportunity to add details and embellishments using a wide selection of fibres, including wool, silk, camel, alpaca, llama, angora, flax, seaweed, bamboo and nylon.

This workshop is tailored to beginners, and no prior experience is necessary.

However, those with some experience are also very welcome to attend and develop their skills further.

Individual guidance will be available throughout the session.
