Kennet Centre
Kennet Centre

Exciting times ahead for Newbury’s Kennet Shopping Centre as it gets ready for a makeover!

Plans are in place to breathe new life into the old centre, transforming it into a vibrant mixed-use development featuring 402 brand-new multi-family build-to-rent apartments and homes for private sale.

The proposal by Lochailort Investments for Newbury’s Kennet Centre were approved by  the West Berkshire Council’s western area planning committee on Wednesday evening.

Planning officers from West Berkshire Council expressed their support for the application, paving the way for a site where 16 of 50 units are currently empty.

Nando’s, Kung Fu, and the Vue cinema will continue to be part of the community!

This scheme will also include 30 flexible shops, restaurants, and co-working spaces, with a special focus on welcoming local, independent, and artisan businesses to thrive.
