This week’s sunshine was fabulous indeed. I caught up with all my gardening and even managed to get the hammock out.
There were many welcomed buyers which brought with them their 4-legged companions which we smooched to death. There was one lady who brought with her a 6 months old pug. The poor woman had to stop each step for someone wanting to pet him. If she charged 50p per a hug she would have walked out of that boot sale a very rich lady. Sadly, we had no pug to benefit from, apart from our charm and enthusiasm. I am just waiting for a couple of items to be sold before I have the final figure to announce.
On a different note, I am glad that shops are opened again. No more my husband has to bear my home-made gifts nor badly cooked special anniversary meal, we can finally go out. Though the fact that they are open doesn’t mean that we forget about the rules. We still need to be respectful and keep the distance.
I had the misfortune of having a lady standing right behind me without a mask. I do understand that there might be a medical condition not to wear a mask but standing so close that I feel their breath on my neck was a little disrespectful.
I was going to say something for I found it uncomfortable but thankfully I had no need. My little boy distracted me by shaking his head vigorously. ‘What’s the matter? Are you ok?’ I asked him whilst gaining courage to tell the lady to keep her distance. My boy replied, ‘I am just shaking the nits out’.
Somehow, I no longer had to tell the lady to back away. She done it all by herself and in such speed that she nearly bumped into the person behind her. I did get the looks but what was the point of explaining that my son only shook out a blackfly which landed on his head. Ages ago my son decided to call everything that lands on his head a nit. We told him that it’s not correct but to him it’s the easiest way to explain an alien moving object in his hair. At least, I no longer had the need to remind the lady behind me about keeping her distance…
