Heritage Walk

One of a series of identical guided walks taking in some of the key installations around the common.

The walk is about 3 miles long and takes roughly 2 hours.

Please wear sensible clothing and footwear since some of the terrain is uneven.

Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead.

Walkers attend these walks at their own risk.

Tickets (£5 + booking fee) must be pre-booked.

The cafe will be open after the walk for refreshments.

Walks all start at 10.30am.

GREENHAM COMMON ANNIVERSARY

The Commons have a rich history, once the site of a military air base that stored nuclear cruise missiles during the Cold War.

This led to demonstrations by the famous Peace Women movement in 1981. Greenham Common’s airfield was reopened to the public on 8 April 2000 after decades of military occupation.

Join them, 25 years later, to acknowledge this landmark anniversary.

This page will be updated with all the information relevant to the 25th anniversary celebrations, so please check on their website for updates and further information.

They have an exciting programme of events and activities for everyone to get involved in, from family trails to a series of talks, and from pond-dipping to guided walks on the Common!

Please see this timetable for details of all the activities taking place at this event.
