Greenham Common Guided Walks
Greenham Common Guided Walks

Join them for a wildlife walk at Greenham Common, led by their Seasonal Wardens.

A fantastic chance to socialise and keep fit whilst exploring the heathland and spotting the local wildlife.

Don’t forget your binoculars and camera!

The walk will be a maximum of 4km, depending on how much you see when we are out.

The walk will be mostly on gravel tracks, but some tracks are uneven and not level so not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs unfortunately.

GREENHAM COMMON

The Commons have a rich history, once the site of a military air base that stored nuclear cruise missiles during the Cold War.

This led to demonstrations by the famous Peace Women movement in 1981. Greenham Common’s airfield was reopened to the public on 8 April 2000 after decades of military occupation.

They have an exciting programme of events and activities for everyone to get involved in, from family trails to a series of talks, and from pond-dipping to guided walks on the Common!
