Festive Baking
There are few better places to be in December than a warm kitchen.
Butter softening on the side, pastry resting in the fridge, dried fruit steeped with spice and something golden slowly taking shape in the oven.
Their Festive Baking course is a day devoted to the comforting rituals of Christmas cooking.
They’ll begin with a chestnut, spinach and blue cheese pithivier, layers of crisp, deeply golden pastry wrapped around a rich, savoury filling.
Something rather special for the festive table.
Then there is stollen.
A traditional loaf, generously filled with fruit and marzipan, baked until fragrant and finished with its familiar dusting of snowy sugar.
And, of course, mince pies. Proper ones.
Buttery pastry filled with homemade mincemeat, warm with fruit and spice and best eaten while they are still just a little warm from the oven.
A wonderfully festive day of flour, butter, pastry and spice, and a few new traditions to take home for Christmas.
