Estonian Symphony Orchestra

They’re delighted to welcome the Estonian Symphony Orchestra to the Festival.
They open tonight’s concert with the hypnotic Benjamin Britten Cantus in Memoriam, written by their fellow countryman Arvo Pärt in 1977.
Freddy Kempf is one of today’s most successful pianists performing to sell-out audiences all over the world.
Freddy will be performing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 1, which while not as well-known as the No. 2, is one of the great works for piano and orchestra.
The second half will feature Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, From the New World, giving a chance to experience The Estonian Symphony Orchestra at their finest, all under the baton of their Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Olari Elts.
Freddy Kempf will also be holding a public masterclass on the morning of the concert.
