They are a  non-profit organisation (Community Interest Company) based in West Berkshire that delivers people-centred projects to strengthen communities.

  • They address community needs such as:
  • Loneliness & isolation, language barriers, maternal wellbeing, diversity, mental health, Cost of Living support & employability.
  • Their flagship event is a free weekly drop-in community cafe at Newbury Library where residents connect for:  
  • ~ Language and employability skills & support.
  • ~ Baby-friendly activities and direct access to local Early Years, maternity & parenting experts.  
  • ~ Community navigation and news
  • ~ Togetherness & a warm welcome for all.
WHO IS IT FOR?
  • EVERYONE is welcome.
  • Residents and volunteers.
  • Families, including grandparents, carers and nannies. 
  • Newcomers to the area, including migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, non-native speakers.
  • Local businesses, public services, and other community/charity organisations wishing to engage their local audiences.
  • Their warm & welcoming community cafe takes place at Newbury Library every Wednesday from 11am – 2pm.

    Join them for free tea & cake in the Carnegie Room upstairs on the 1st floor of Newbury Library.

    The 1st floor is also accessible by lift.

What are Educafe Buddies?

A team of  volunteers who are dedicated to making Educafe a welcoming and friendly place for everybody including new & existing visitors, referrals from other services and other volunteers.

The Parent Village

  • Drop in between 11am-2pm every Wednesday at Newbury Library (whenever suits you – in-between nappy changing or getting changed for the millionth time!).

    Head to the back of the Ground Floor’s Children’s Library where you’ll find a group of mums and some dads who are going through similar experiences.

Chatty Corner

Chatty Corner’s English language support group takes places every Wednesday from 11am – 2pm.

Knit & Natter

Join the Knit & Natter table upstairs at Newbury Library every Wednesday between 11am and 2pm.

You don’t have to knit or crochet.

All crafting or mindful activites are welcome.

Some people bring colouring, card making and stitching too.

seated wellbeing

Free seated wellbeing sessions take place every Wednesday at Newbury Library from 2.15pm to 2.45pm in the Carnegie Room upstairs.

Every body is welcome.

All levels and abilities are catered for.

 Education Hub

They are excited to introduce the Education Hub, a dynamic new space for learning, collaboration and community support!
