Creative Thursdays
TEN WEEK ART COURSE WITH VARIOUS ARTISTS
10 Thursdays mornings, 10am to 12noon.
Free to eligible participants (booking necessary).
If you are over 65 and live alone, you can join this course to boost your creativity and meet some local people.
It is free and it includes a free hot drink.
Each week you will sample an art technique with different tutors and enjoy a relaxing morning doing something new in a friendly atmosphere.
You will have a break half way through for a hot drink.
No previous experience is necessary, only the will to have a go and to meet others.

- 4th June to 2nd July
They prefer it if you book the whole course but if you can only do a few dates you can still join on these sessions.

On Friday mornings you are able to take part in Friday Art Sessions which are free and a way to meet new people while trying various art techniques.
These sessions receive funding in various ways so they can pay the artists delivering the sessions fairly.
There is always an exhibition to see at City Arts, and they are free to visit!Â
They offer affordable exhibition space to artists and collaborate with local schools and projects to showcase creativity.
There are opportunities for artists to submit work for their Open Exhibitions each on a particular theme.

With their commitment to the community, they have a strong ethos of equality and inclusion.
Their flagship Chalkfest event takes place every August – they take over the Market Square in Newbury and enjoy brightening up the pavement!
A competition of the chalk drawings is judged by a local artist with prizes for different age groups.
