Civic Carol Service
Local residents are invited to join the Mayor of Thatcham, Councillor Mark Lillycrop, for the annual Civic Carol Service at St Mary’s Church on Sunday 13th December at 3.00pm.
The civic carol service is a free event, open to residents of all ages to attend and provides an opportunity for the local community to come together to celebrate the festive season while supporting local charitable causes.
The carol service will feature traditional carol singing, the beautiful sounds of the Barfield Handbell Ringers, and traditional readings by a range of speakers.
In addition to the service, the winners of the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition will be invited to receive their prize which will be presented by the Mayor.
Festive refreshments of mince pies, shortbread and mulled wine will be available, as well as a retiring collection for the Mayor’s chosen charities, PALS West Berkshire and West Berks Foodbank.
Mayor of Thatcham, Councillor Mark Lillycrop, said “I look forward to welcoming residents to the Civic Carol Service for an evening of festive celebration and support for my two chosen charities. With special thanks to St Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Choir and the Barfield Handbell Ringers for continuing to be an important part of this service.”
