The Family Day at The GAP Festival on Saturday, 13th June, has the theme “Wonders of the Natural World” for their new photography competition for children.

Get ready to spark your curiosity, unleash your creativity, and discover the beauty of the natural world!

They are inviting all young photographers in the area to join their fun-filled Children’s Nature Photography Competition, in partnership with the talented Simon Booker and Beale Park.

A chance to win!

Selected images from each category will shine in a special Nature Photography Exhibition, showcasing stunning wildlife pictures captured by local photographer Simon Booker on Family Day.

They will announce the winner of each category on Family Day, and the winners will  join Simon for an exclusive photography workshop!

Plus, the overall ‘Young Nature Photographer of the Year’ will win a family day pass to Beale Park.

Competition categories

Whether you’re taking close-ups, exploring wildlife, or capturing sweeping landscapes, the judges  are looking forward to seeing photos that tell a beautiful story of nature.

The competition is split into three age groups:

  • Little Explorers: Ages 5-7
  • Wild Wonders: Ages 8-11 
  • Nature Through My Lens: Ages 12-14 

There’s no need for professional equipment – whether using a camera, tablet, or smartphone, it’s about noticing something special and capturing it.
