Saturday 14 February 2026 – 10am to 11am – £24

This workshop is aimed at children’s 5 – 11 years old.


All children must be accompanied by a parent or Guardian throughout the workshop.

Make a fused glass Decorated Heart to be mounted on a tea light or hung as a window or wall hanging.

Your Heart can be decorated with just pattern or you can do a flower meadow design.

You will use frit (crushed glass), stringers and noodles (thin strands of glass), random sheet glass pieces and ready mixed enamel glass paints.

This is for a maximum of 8 x Children per session.

Due to the firing process, you will need to return to City Arts to collect your glass creations 2 weeks later.

These sessions receive funding in various ways so they can pay the artists delivering the sessions fairly.

There is always an exhibition to see at City Arts, and they are free to visit! 

They offer affordable exhibition space to artists and collaborate with local schools and projects to showcase creativity.

There are opportunities for artists to submit work for their Open Exhibitions each on a particular theme.

They are proud of their involvement in the community and run seasonal free and low cost events. 

With their commitment to the community, they have a strong ethos of equality and inclusion.

Their flagship Chalkfest event takes place every August – they take over the Market Square in Newbury and enjoy brightening up the pavement!

A competition of the chalk drawings is judged by a local artist with prizes for different age groups.
