Caversham Park House
The beautiful grounds which was once home to BBC Monitoring will be transformed into a brand-new park with 199 new homes on the site.
A landmark decision by the Reading Borough Council was made this week.
The project has been led by Beechcroft Developments.
They’re looking to turn Caversham Park House, into assisted living units, a care home, age-restricted housing, and affordable housing.
But that’s not all – they’re also opening up the land, gardens, and new amenities to the public for the first time in history, providing sporting and community spaces that haven’t been available before.
They’re dedicated to preserving the beauty and history of Caversham Park House, and they’re excited to make it accessible to the local community.
That’s why we’re providing more pedestrian access into the site via Lowfield Road and publicly accessible sports facilities, including croquet, tennis, and a cricket pitch, which they feel will meet the needs of their community.
And that’s not all – they’re also creating a museum incorporated into the extended pavilion.
Plus, they’ll be offering employment and economic benefits to the community, with increased landscaping and new ecological enhancements to the area, including above-policy biodiversity net gain.
