This workshop is designed for watercolour painters with some prior experience.

It focuses on capturing the changing light, colour, and mood of the sky throughout the day.

You will explore techniques for painting clouds with a sense of depth, texture, and movement, and study how sky colours shift at sunrise and sunset.

Through clear demonstrations and guided exercises, you will develop adaptable techniques to help you confidently depict light, tonal variation, and contrast in skies from dawn to dusk.

  • Tonal values

  • Wet-in-wet techniques

  • Graded washes

  • Brushwork techniques

  • Colour mixing

Materials

Materials are not included in the booking fee.

Some materials will be provided by the tutor, approximate cost £10 payable to the tutor on the day.

The tutor can take cash or card payment
