They truly value what their users tell them and strive to flexibly and quickly adjust their services to ensure everyone receives the support they need.
Bubble Club is a fantastic first stop for parents who suspect that their child may have a learning disability.
Here, they can connect with other parents and carers and receive guidance from their caring Family Advisors.
Their Family Advisor Service is there to offer support, advice, and information to individuals with learning disabilities, their loved ones, and the professionals assisting them.
They take pride in providing personalised support tailored to each parent, carer, and service user through their West Berkshire Mencap Family Advisor Service.
After joining Bubble Club, children can explore a variety of engaging services, including playschemes, after-school clubs, and holiday activities.
For adults, they invite you to their Gateway Club, meeting weekly at the Mencap Centre in Newbury and every other week in Beenham and Hungerford.
These clubs are a popular spot for people with learning disabilities to enjoy a fun evening out with friends.
They also offer many other enjoyable activities for adults through Leisure Plus, from engaging community projects and independent living skills to drama, sports, cinema trips, and more!
Link Up offers a fantastic sheltered employment and training scheme located in Bone Lane, Newbury, providing a real work atmosphere for adults with learning disabilities to gain valuable experiences leading to work placements or employment opportunities.
Their brand-new horticultural and social inclusion facility, right next to the main Mencap Centre, gives members the joy of growing beautiful flowers and vegetables while also learning woodworking skills.
They are completing an exciting pottery unit and crafting facilities!
This new site will be so much more than their previous horticultural project at Cottesmore, and they’re actively fundraising to enhance these amazing opportunities for their members.
Additionally, they proudly run a Care Quality Commission registered Domiciliary Care Agency called Your Choice Services, offering support and care to adults and children right in their own homes and out in the community.
Heffernan House, which became part of their family in 2011 with the wonderful support from Greenham Common Trust, is West Berkshire Mencap’s supported living unit, featuring 7 flats that provide cozy homes for people with learning disabilities.
