Cooking on Fire

Join chef and outdoor cookery tutor, Robin Popham for inspiration with Cooking on Fire.

This class will embrace what cooking over fire truly has to offer, FLAVOUR!

You won’t find heavy marinades, thick rich sauces or extravagant ingredients, masking the flavour but learn the delights of what this method of cooking has to offer – fire, char and smoke.

A little forethought and preparation goes a long way when cooking over fire, so Robin will spend a little time teaching you how to plan before exploring the joys of using indirect, direct and contact heat with a selection of recipes showcasing the flavour each method brings.

You will also learn how to build and maintain a fire, control the heat and use every part of a fire, even
the coals and embers! With a little practice and patience cooking over fire is every bit as controllable and flexible as using a conventional kitchen.

Lunch Included:

A feast will be created on the fire to share outside in the beautiful Honesty Cookery School grounds, all accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine.

The joy of their venue is its flexibility – if the weather proves to be inclement we have the option of working in their undercover area and retreating to the cookery school to eat.
