Botanical Dyes From Kitchen WasteThis workshop is for adults
This workshop has been designed with both sustainability and botanical dyes in mind.
During this workshop you will explore natural botanical dyeing using specific kitchen scraps and kitchen cupboard ingredients to dye and produce a collection of textile samples in various colours.
With this workshop you will be introduced to botanical dyes applied onto different natural fibres (fabric swatches) to achieve variations in intensity of the same colour and the application of colour modifiers to create a mini reference library that you can use as starting point to bring your botanical dyeing practice further.
All material will be provided as well as some handouts on botanical dyeing and the recipes that you will use on the day.
Feel free to bring any small pieces of natural fabric or clothing in natural fabric that you wish to experiment with on the day.
Please dress for mess, wear old clothes and bring an apron and rubber gloves or disposable gloves.
You will have lunch break around midday , so please, bring your own pack lunch or check local cafes for take away food options.
