Micklems Farm is a unique venue. A 17th century grade 2 listed property surrounded by characterful farm buildings set in mature gardens and overlooking open countryside - a wonderful environment to inspire creativity.
Workshops have been running here for 5 years and we are constantly adding new subjects to the curriculum.

On this one-day workshop you will learn how to make your own mosaic made from vintage and antique china. This craft, known as 'Pique Assiette' ('stolen plate') is a way of reusing and re-loving broken and unwanted china. You will learn how to select, nip, design, create, grout and finish your very own mosaic to take home. A choice of shapes will be available for you to choose from which include a heart, bird and pot stand.

On this one-day workshop you will make a ceramic sheep with using lace, fabric and rubber stamping to add decorative texture. You will learn how to quickly create a basic armature using simple household items.
You’ll be shown how to build your sheep by cutting shapes from clay, imprinted with your texture, that you have rolled using a slab roller. Expression can be added throughout the process after which the sheep will be dried, fired and coloured off site. You’ll both be re-united within 2-3 weeks (to be collected from Micklems Farm).
