Unwind in the warm and earthy, oldy worldy pub, with perfectly kept ales from local breweries, 2 log fires, wonderful oak beams and beautiful bespoke oak tables. Or sink into one of the leather sofas in the lounge overlooking the village square, and while away an afternoon in front of the open fire

They are first and foremost a country dining pub, and Head Chef Nick MacGregor’s ethos is very simple – the very best ingredients, cooked simply, cooked well. His team work tirelessly to create dishes that shows off the diverse array of flavours of the British countryside.

They are truly blessed to be surrounded by the most sensational produce, and in conjunction with our wonderful suppliers, Nick lets these amazing ingredients do the talking, creating simple, unfussy food that gains annual recognition in the Michelin Guide amongst others.

Enjoy lazy al fresco lunches and dinners on smart wicker chairs under our beautiful revamped terrace, with lovely bamboo slats creating some dappled sunlight, and a perspex cover keeping the worst of the rain out.

Or while away a few hours on the lawn, surrounded by a plethora of flowers that explode with colour throughout the year. After your meal, relax on the outdoor sofas next to the firepit and pour yourself that extra glass… and with the water feature trickling away in the background, if you close your eyes you will think you are in Tuscany !

With a twinkling maple tree at its heart, the orangery is the new centrepiece of the Royal Oak. It overlooks the brand new kitchen which features an amazing 3 tiered rotisserie, Argentine parilla grill and pizza oven. Bi fold doors lead out to our beautifully re-landscaped garden, with sofa terrace, firepit, and an amazing water feature. Diners can choose between sitting under the pergola or on shaded tables around the Victorian walled garden.
