It is a really busy time at GSMC HQ with lots of exciting news, projects, live shows and new releases in the pipeline. This week brings the release of the brand new single ‘Distance Brings Us Closer’ from The Lost Trades and new videos for ‘Red Haired Mary’ by Humstrum and ‘Full Moon Over Vegas’ from Mandy Woods. We are delighted to announce that the Food & Music Festival will be taking place at South Hill Park Arts Centre on August Bank Holiday Weekend and we are announcing live shows for when Lockdown is lifted everyday. The long awaited new album ‘Powerless’ from Ajay Srivastav is released on 25th June and the new single ‘Shine’ by Paul Alexander Low comes out on 23rd April. The Festival of the Artisan takes place online this weekend featuring Bella Hardy, Blair Dunlop, The Long Road and many more. Our Online Music Club continues to Keep Music Live every evening and this week includes rising stars on the acoustic music scene Lizzy Hardingham & Laura Loh and our weekly New Original Music Playlist introduces some great music you may not have come across before. Live Music This Week GSMC Online Music Club There is a fantastic week of Live Music coming up Online with Dave Dando performing live from Liverpool tonight (Monday), David Barrett from The Screen Gems (Wednesday), Lizzy Hardingham who is a rising star on the Folk circuit (Thursday), Hampshire based singer & songwriter Laura Loh music (Saturday), Americana/Folk duo Tomorrow Bird (Sunday). The Festival of the Artisan featuring Bella Hardy, Blair Dunlop, Th Long Road and many more takes place on the 26th & 27th March. Gavin Thomas performs Songs From The Summer House on Tuesday & Sunday this week and Vic’s Coffee Break with Vic Cracknell takes place Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 11am.
New Single The Lost Trades “Distance Brings Us Closer” Released 26th March Folk trio The Lost Trades have been described as a Wiltshire Supergroup, in the style of Crosby, Stills and Nash, and their latest single “Distance Brings Us Closer” highlights the magic that three voices in harmony can conjure. The song was written during the first lockdown and describes the highs and lows experienced by many, and how sometimes being forced apart from your loved ones can make you cling even tighter to the love and friendships you share. Following on from the standalone single “Hummingbird”, it is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album “The Bird, The Book & The Barrel” due for release June 2021. Inspired by traditional and contemporary folk music, Antoine & Owena create their own original blend of folk music that provides a feast for the ears, the heart and the feet. New Date Announced New Music Tuesday Fred Irwin, Neil Wells, Nicole Allan & Moonlight Foxes Tuesday 6th July, 8pm The Acoustic Couch, Bracknell, Berkshire Our New Music Tuesday at The Acoustic Couch, Bracknell on 6th July will feature live music from Fred Irwin is a multi talented, solo singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist based in the South East of the UK, Surrey based Musician Neil Wells who recently released his latest album Live for Today, Nicole Allan is a singer & songwriter with a Country feel and Moonlight Foxes who are a Berkshire based duo and a previous winner in the GSMC Music Awards, starts 8pm.
The Festival of the Artisan 26th & 27th March The Festival of the Artisan will be taking place on 26th & 27th March. Tune into this Arts Council England supported festival to enjoy live performances from BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners Bella Hardy and Blair Dunlop, along with The Long Road, Lil' Roosters, Elaine Davidson and some mega emerging acoustic artists.
