We are delighted to present a double bill of new music featuring Folk/Americana artists The Lost Trades and Tomorrow Bird. Drawing influences from bands such as The Civil Wars, their haunting melodies and heart-felt lyrics have transfixed audiences and marked them out as a band to watch!

American Wilderness Odyssey
Steve Bonham & the Long Road
Venture Theate, Ashby- de-la- Zouch Friday 17th Sept
Salford Arts Theatre Saturday 18th Sept
The Long Road were formed with a single mad idea to go back to the source to explore and reimagine what might grow out of the great musical roots of USA; a crazy notion to try distil something original and powerful from the elements that made some of the most potent music ever heard by human ears. The band call it Moonshine Music: taking a few simple, authentic ingredients adding a little heat and magic to try to conjure up some rare, raw spirit. It features as fine a bunch of rogues as ever hit a recording studio or a dirt stage each bringing a distinctive experience and musical imagination. Steve Bonham a songwriter working in the American Folk/Country , (guitar, slide, mandolin and guitar/bazouki ); Chris ‘The Bishop’ Lydon on piano channelling some swampy New Orleans piano, and ‘The Big Man’ Kev Moore 40 years of rock’n’roll on bass, guitar and drums.
The Voodoo Sheiks
Thursday 16th September
The Couch, Bracknell
Vibrant, is an excellent word to describe the cranked up and cranked out hugely entertaining Voodoo Sheiks. They carve out some serious classic sounding R&B. There is no time to draw breath with these guys as they deliver pile driving guitar, now provided by new band member Brent Hutchinson, searing harmonica and rasped vocals from ‘Slowblow’ Dave Magson and a new rocking rhythm section consisting of Andy Pullin on Bass and Adrian Thomas on drums. The party never starts until The Voodoo Sheiks smash down your front door and deliver the goods in person….Boom!

In an age of cultural division and societal conflict, his performances have been described as passionate, healing and uplifting. Ajay’s laid-back style transcends musical borders with a sound that flows from the banks of Delta Blues which influenced him as a child to the sacred river of the Ganges where he learnt raags from the Gurus in his father’s hometown of Varanasi – the holy city of India. Blending these influences, he came back with what he calls Karmic Blues.
