The Foinavon is a gorgeous village pub with six letting bedrooms nestled in the village of Compton, Berkshire.  Around 11.5 miles from Newbury, The Foinavon offers high-quality dining and stylish accommodation with free parking and Wi-Fi. Just over 30 minutes’ drive from Oxford and Reading, this Berkshire village inn has a large garden and a library area with log fire.

Close to the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border, The Foinavon is around 10 miles south of Didcot, where the Cornerstone Arts Centre regularly hosts well-known music and comedy acts. Newbury’s attractions include the 16th-century Shaw House, and Newbury Marina on the Kennet and Avon Canal.

At the helm since November 2014 you will find Irish husband and wife team Geoff Jones and Joan McGowan.  Geoff is an award winning chef with over 30 years in the hospitality industry and Joan was Network Ireland's Business Woman of the Year 2014/2015.  Together they make a dynamic pairing.  They owned and operated one of the most successful gastropubs in Southern Ireland.

They fell in love with The Foinavon on sight and they know you will too.....

Since taking over in November 2014 owner/head chef Geoff Jones has put in place a skilled and passionate brigade of chefs.  Evening meals are served in the bar and restaurant areas from 5.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. nightly.  Diners are raving about the food offering in The Foinavon, noting its affordability and high quality.  Whether it's a homemade burger or their famous fish & chips or a succulent ribeye streak, the restaurant in The Foinavon is the ideal place to eat.  If it's an intimate dinner for two, a corporate event, a family get together or a casual night out, The Foinavon ticks all the boxes.

A proud Greene King pub, The Foinavon offers an array of high quality beers, wines and spirits.

Customers may opt to have a premium pint in the bar or library area or alternatively relax in the luscious garden.

The Foinavon is very family orientated.  Their menus cater for all the family, offering a menu to suit children with wholesome, freshly prepared food and there are half portions available for grandmas and grandfathers alike.

All are welcome in The Foinavon.  They are pet friendly.  Dogs are very welcome in the bar area.
