The Dave Kitson Academy -Reading FC goalscoring legend Dave Kitson - who was top goalscorer in Reading FC's record breaking 106 season and scored the Royals' first ever Premier League goal - is currently offering free one to one and group coaching sessions in the Reading and Newbury area.
 
The former striker, who lives between Newbury and Reading, still holds the record for most goals scored at Reading's Select Car Leasing Stadium.
 
He is coaching boys and girls from the age of five years old - and is giving extra coaching to Reading FC academy players.
 
Dave's ultimate aim is to develop players who will go on to play professionally. He is already working with an academy in Ireland to find the next Kevin Doyle, Shane Long or Noel Hunt - and hopes that one or more of the players he is developing will go on to play for Reading's first team.
 
But he is just at home coaching five and six year olds who want to play football for the fun of it.
 
And, despite only setting up The Dave Kitson Academy a month ago, word is spreading worldwide about Dave's new career as a coach. He is receiving enquiries to provide his coaching for teams and players as far afield as the USA and New Zealand.
 
If you are stuck for something to give as a Christmas or birthday gift, Dave is also offering the opportunity to coach a team then make a cameo appearance for both teams in a five a side game.

The Dave Kitson Academy is a football academy that provides group coaching, one to one coaching sessions, elite coaching, player development and scholarships for Under 9s to Under 23s.

ABOUT DAVE KITSON:

Dave Kitson signed for Reading FC in 2003 and was their player of the year in the 2003/04 season – and top scorer in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons. He was top scorer again in Reading’s record-breaking 106 point title winning season in 2005/06. 

He was twice included in the PFA team of the year – and still holds the record for the most goals ever scored at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. 

Dave scored Reading’s first ever Premier League goal in a 3-2 home win against Middlesbrough on the opening day of the 2006/07 Premier League season as the Royals went on to finish 8th, their highest ever finish in English football.

After five successful seasons with Reading, Dave moved to Stoke City for a club record £6m fee and spent the next two seasons in the Premier League. He also played for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Oxford United in a career that saw him score more than 160 goals. 

In 2019 Dave was inducted into the Reading FC Hall of Fame.

He remains one of only a few players to have scored in every professional division and in every professional domestic cup competition.

Reading FC legend Dave Kitson has launched his new football academy - THE DAVE KITSON ACADEMY - and is offering a FREE one-hour coaching session with him (for boys and girls aged 6-23 in the West Berkshire area) for anyone who mentions West Berkshire Villagers when they book their session.

The offer is valid up to and including December 20.
