Emma is very passionate about the magical medium of silver clay and loves to share her knowledge and skills with others through her workshops and courses at the Silver Clay Academy. Silver clay, also known as precious metal clay is a fantastic eco-friendly material. Made from silver, recycled from various sources such as the medical and communication industries. The recycled silver is refined into tiny particles and mixed with an organic, non toxic binder. This fabulous malleable material can then be shaped and sculpted and even used to capture real pieces of nature, using techniques that you will learn on a Silver Clay Academy Workshop. When the clay is dried, it is then fired using either a special kiln, or a torch. during this process the binder is burned away leaving pure ( or Fine silver. The piece is polished to leave a beautiful piece of jewellery for you to treasure forever. To learn more and to make your very own piece of silver jewellery, why not come along to one of our workshops? They are from beginner level and have a number of dates to suit.
