The fundamental purpose of the festival is to share a love of classical music and engage people of all backgrounds with the joy of live performance, through our concerts and workshops held across Berkshire.
Each of their concerts offer quality, inclusive musical programmes performed by outstanding world-class musicians in beautiful local venues.
Their workshops within local schools aspire to spark passion for live music-making and introduce children to a diverse spectrum of classical composers.
Their visits to care homes and hospices intend to provide comfort, happiness and an ‘escape from the norm’ for their residents.
The festival in June will be their fifth and based on the theme of ‘Music & Mischief’, with the aim of bringing outstanding classical music directly into their communities, providing the opportunity for audiences to experience and enjoy live music together, in person, again.
They will host workshops at various primary schools, hospices and residential homes across the county, and the festival will finish with four concerts performed by a host of top-class musicians.
They are delighted to welcome Connaught Brass, winners of the Royal Overseas League Competition 2023 as their visiting artists.
The festival will also include a performance of the Beethoven Septet, Haydn’s String Quartet no.2 op.33 ‘The Joke’, a new arrangement of Bacewicz’ Oboe Trio and the première of a piece created by the children who have participated in their workshops.
