New Cafe for Victoria Park, Newbury

Planning application has been submitted to West Berkshire District Council and it is hoped that the new Community Café will be ready to open in early 2022. At the forefront of the proposal is the Council’s commitment to provide a Café that will operate 364 days per year and will be an important and valuable community hub for the Town. We also want to ensure that the new building is designed to enable carbon neutral operation. It will also have a toilet with baby changing facilities and disabled access, as well as male, female and disabled toilets for users of the Park.

Cllr Martin Colston, Leader of Newbury Town Council said: “This is a great opportunity.  Victoria Park is in the centre of Newbury and extends to almost 50 acres. It is close to the town centre and the new bus station. The café will be centrally located, close to all of the leisure facilities in the Park, which include playgrounds, tennis courts, the bandstand, bowling green, a skatepark, boating pond and Splash Park. It’s at the heart of the town and very well used.”
