The first novel by Newbury-based writer Nick Card is now on sale and promises to be a real treat for murder-mystery fans.
Nick is a published poet and an accomplished playwright who has written several plays for Newbury Dramatic Society, and enjoyed success further afield, from London to the Edinburgh Festival.
His debut novel “Faith, Love and Murder” centres around an intriguing murder investigation led by feisty detective Fran Jacobs.
“I want to take readers on a rollercoaster ride that shocks and surprises, but also asks questions to help open the doors of their perception – a ‘whodunnit’ with a little extra,” says the author.
Having already written poetry, as well as material for stage and screen, a novel was a natural outlet for Nick’s imagination.
“I hope I have created a book that balances intrigue and twists with soul searching character development.”
Religion and romance are central themes of the story, which is set in the fictional county of Havantshire – which shares some similarities with Newbury and the surrounding area.
“Faith, Love and Murder” can be purchased in hardback or paperback, exclusively from the publisher, here
