The Watermill Theatre is on the lookout for local hosts to accommodate an actor or creative team member in their spare room or annexe, to help bring its epic production of The Lord of the Rings to life this summer.
The Watermill accommodates many of its freelance staff onsite but regularly works with local hosts who house members of staff at certain times of the year when onsite space is limited.
With a large cast and creative team due to work on The Lord of the Rings, they are now looking to expand the existing group of hosts.
The show will play from 25 July – 15 October, but hosts will need to have full or partial availability between mid-June and the end of October and should live within driving distance (maximum 30 minutes drive time) of Bagnor.
There will be a fee offered and hosts will also be invited to an open dress rehearsal of the production.
With The Lord of the Rings set across both The Watermill auditorium and gardens, audiences will be immersed in the magical landscape of Tolkien, joining an ensemble cast and large-scale puppets on an epic journey celebrating the power of friendship and common goodness to conquer unimaginable evil.
Charley Hart, Interim General Manager, commented
“Hosting one of our actors or creative team members reveals a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on The Watermill and the performing arts industry.
We are excited to hear from anyone who would like to help us bring Bag End to Bagnor this summer by becoming a local host – we can’t wait to welcome leading artists from across the UK to Berkshire.”
