JoeDaisy Studio | West Berkshire Villagers
Teaching you to paint professionally | Caroline Hulse FRSA, a classically trained Professional Artist, is the owner along with her daughter Cat Croxford. Chatting to Cat, we learn about Joe Daisy Studio, Cat as an artist, the effect of Ashampstead Common, the light s and colours, the feeling of history and the effect it has on your mental health.
Discussing art today, is part of our celebration of Open Studios, which has returned for 2021.
Is to teach you to paint professionally with precise, careful, humorous, original individual teaching.
“We have been told that we are very different from most teaching studios because we don’t teach you to COPY the tutors but we teach YOU to paint Like YOU
By providing the skills needed in each painting medium”
Caroline is a highly trained Professional Artist and her skills have been passed onto all her tutors.
Each class is a carefully constructed programme, so that you get the most professional training from every course.
The tutors are chosen because they are excellent painters and because they are brilliant communicators.
They also provide the best art materials. DaVinci Brushes. Royal Talens acrylics and oils. Great quality canvases.
Their large studio is located in Mapledurham, Berkshire
The new space is 2,000sq ft
So everyone has their own area with professional easel (H Frame), table, high chair along with all the painting equipment you require. All individual spaces are at least 2 metres apart.
They paint large! Up to size 100x100cm canvases (provided you can get them in your car!). Usually 80x80cm is best.
They can accommodate up to 12 students but prefer up to 9 on their painting weekends. Presently 7 because of Covid.
There is a lovely ‘chill out area’ where we eat, look at art books and chat.
Of course, a kitchen where you can make tea or coffee any time.
They also have outdoor eating spaces (for sunny days!)
