What was life like in the Newbury area before the Norman Conquest? Find out about Anglo-Saxon culture in West Berkshire, including the meanings of some of our local place names, archaeological finds from this period and the growth of Christianity.

Speaker Dr David Peacock writes, researches and talks on the history of the Newbury area from the Stone Age to the present day. He is the author of ‘The Story of Newbury’ and of ‘Newbury Roman Cemetery’.

This pre-recorded talk will take place via Zoom. It will be accessible from 7pm on Thursday 25 March only.
